Breath of Fire III

The sprite art is gorgeous, and the dragon transformations feel more fluid than ever. The story's charm is still there, just with way more depth. This one's a keeper for any old-school RPG fan.

Was a bit worried the jump to PS1 would lose that classic charm, but the extra processing power really lets the world breathe without losing the series' soul. The sprite art and battle transitions feel buttery smooth compared to the older entries.

Third playthrough and I still catch new details in the battle animations that the extra PlayStation power really shows off. The way it keeps that classic series charm while feeling fresh is exactly what I wanted from a sequel on this console.
