Dead Or Alive 2

The loading times between rounds are surprisingly quick, so you're back in the action fast. The theme song has been stuck in my head all week, but that’s part of the fun. Great fighting mechanics for a launch title.

The tagline made me laugh, but the real star here is the smooth 60fps fighting—Ayane’s combos feel incredibly responsive.

The water physics on the beach stage look incredible for a PS2 game, and the tag team battles are finally smooth enough to pull off combos. I’ve been playing through each costume unlock, and the detail on Kasumi’s outfit is noticeably sharper than on the original.
