Final Fantasy II

I wasn't sure a classic RPG could feel this fresh, but the updated battle system keeps things moving at a nice pace. The way magic levels up through repeated use really changes how you approach each fight.

The updated graphics really make the old Famicom world feel fresh, and the magic system with spell levels adds a nice layer of strategy. I've been grinding through the character progression and it's rewarding to see my party grow stronger.

The opening scene hit me hard—watching my whole village burn in the first five minutes set the tone perfectly. The updated visuals on Playstation are a huge step up from the original, and the magic system finally makes sense to me.
