The arenas are huge, which really opens up the combat for jump attacks and aerial combos. The cel-shaded sprites look fantastic both in cut-scenes and during fights, keeping the anime feel consistent. Easily one of the best feeling PS2 fighters I’ve played.

The jump attacks from the huge arenas really add a new layer to the fights. I kept trying different combos just to see how the sprites flowed between the cut-scenes and battle.

I was really impressed by how smooth the transition is from the cut-scenes into the battles—it keeps the flow going. The jump attacks in the large arenas add a lot of strategy, though the camera can be a bit clunky at times.
