Growlanser II (Best)

The sprite art is gorgeous and really brings the fantasy world to life. The way the story threads come together kept me glued to my PS2 for hours.

The sprite art is genuinely gorgeous, and the way the story threads weave together keeps you hooked from the first hour to the final boss. I’ve played a lot of classic-style RPGs, but this one’s pacing and dialogue feel refreshingly tight, even by modern standards.

I was worried the plot wouldn't hold up after all these years, but the golden-threaded storytelling kept me glued to the couch for three straight evenings. The sprite animations are so fluid in battle that they make the older 3D titles feel stiff in comparison.
