The story really hooks you after the first few battles, way deeper than I expected from a PS1 strategy RPG. Took me about 30 hours to finish, with the branching paths giving it great replay value.

I’d been burned by too many “epic” RPGs that were all grind and no payoff, so the focus on story here was a genuine relief. The full 3D world is nice, but it’s the plot that actually made me care about finishing every side quest.

The 3D polygon world really pulled me in from the first battle—it feels way more immersive than the flat sprites I grew up with. I’ve been playing through the story every night this week and it’s got that classic Konami charm that keeps you hooked.
