Compare the standard Neo Geo Mini and the Samurai Spirits Limited Edition. See what each includes, what you still need, and which one fits your setup.
Quick answer
Choose the Samurai Spirits Limited Edition if you want the Haomaru-themed extras and a screen protector in one package. Choose the standard Neo Geo Mini if you already have an HDMI cable and just want the console for less.
What the Limited Edition adds beyond the standard console
The Samurai Spirits Limited Edition is a bundle, not a different console. It includes the same Neo Geo Mini hardware but adds a power cable, an HDMI cable, two stickers, a character card, an anti-slip pad, and a screen protector sheet. The standard Neo Geo Mini is the console alone and requires an HDMI cable to play on a TV. If you do not already own a spare HDMI cable, the Limited Edition saves you a separate purchase and a trip to the store.
The UK power caveat applies to both versions
The Limited Edition's original power cable needs a power converter or a different transformer to use in the UK. The standard Neo Geo Mini does not include a power cable at all, so you will need to supply your own compatible power source. Neither option is plug-and-play in the UK without checking your power setup first. Factor that into the total cost before you decide.
Price and value: what you pay for the extras
At catalog prices, the Limited Edition costs more than the standard Neo Geo Mini, but it also includes an HDMI cable and several extras. If you value the Haomaru-themed items and the screen protector, the bundle can be worthwhile. If you already have cables and do not care about the collectible extras, the standard version is the more economical choice. Neither price includes any additional power adapter you may need.
Key trade-offs to weigh
- Included accessories: The Limited Edition includes an HDMI cable and screen protector; the standard version does not. Check your cable drawer before choosing.
- Power setup: The Limited Edition's power cable needs a UK converter or different transformer; the standard version includes no power cable. Confirm you have a safe power solution either way.
- Collectibility: The Limited Edition adds Haomaru-themed stickers and a character card that the standard version lacks. Decide if themed extras matter to you.
