Finally, a shmup that actually rewards you for playing recklessly—the ten unique power-ups keep each run feeling fresh. Grabbed this for the Switch and the vertical scrolling insanity is just as addictive as I remember, though the difficulty spike caught me off guard.

The risk-reward mechanic is genius—edging close to enemies for bonus points actually changes how I play every stage, and the ten character loadouts keep runs feeling fresh. I’ve already sunk four hours into it and the bullet patterns are chaotic but fair once you get the flow.

Getting closer to enemies to trigger those bonus score windows is genuinely scary at first, but the risk-reward loop hooks you fast. Ten different characters with unique shot patterns give the game way more replay value than I expected from a shoot-’em-up.
