The mini games are surprisingly engaging even for a grown-up learning basic hiragana – my four-year-old and I actually fight over whose turn it is. Having fewer buttons makes it much less overwhelming for tiny hands, and the Japanese voice prompts are a nice touch for language exposure.

The simplified button layout on this controller makes it perfect for my three-year-old to play along without getting frustrated. He's already picking up basic Japanese words from the mini games, which is a nice bonus. It's held up well to drops and spills too.

We were surprised how easily our four-year-old picked up the simplified controls; the bigger buttons made it much less frustrating than a standard controller. It’s been a fun way to practice Japanese numbers during the mini games too.
