Power League

The batting physics feel tighter than the NES baseball games I grew up with, and the steal mechanic actually rewards timing instead of just mashing buttons. Importing from Japan was smooth, and the cart itself plays clean on my CoreGrafx—no glitches or save hiccups so far.

Finally got my hands on this PC Engine classic—the sprite work for the stadium and player animations is surprisingly detailed for an early HU Card title. Controls take a moment to adjust to, but the fast-paced arcade feel makes it a blast for quick matches.

I’ve been hunting for this first entry in the Power League series for ages, and the HU Card format loads fast with no loading screens between innings. The Japanese text is a small hurdle, but the menus are simple enough to figure out after one game.
