Sky Surfer (Nouveau)

Beat Balloon alone is worth the price of entry—I've sunk hours into that sub game and still haven't cleared every stage. The main snowboarding mode is a nice bonus, though the joypad controls take a few runs to get used to. Definitely a hidden gem for anyone who likes a challenge.

The snowboarding trick physics feel surprisingly weighty for a PS2 game, and the beat balloon mini-game is a fun distraction when I need a break from the main challenge. Controls are responsive enough that I'm already landing combos I'd been struggling with.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun the Beat Balloon sub-game is — it adds a nice break from the tricky snowboard tricks. The controls are responsive enough to make pulling off stunts feel pretty rewarding once you get the hang of them.
