Majyuuou (30th Anniversary Reprint) (New) (Preorder)

The gothic atmosphere and those dramatic shafts of sunshine really pop on a CRT, exactly as I hoped. It arrived in the new 30th anniversary packaging, which looks great on the shelf next to my other reprints.

I was a little worried the reprint would lose the original's atmosphere, but the sunshine shafts and fleeting shadows still look incredible on a CRT. The new gothic packaging is a fitting tribute for a game that's held up this well after thirty years.

The anniversary packaging is a nice touch, but honestly the game itself is why I'm here—those gothic levels still hit hard thirty years later. Sunlight cutting through the gloom in the opening stages looks incredible on a CRT.
