Managing your focus across multiple regions is genuinely tense—leave Edo undefended and Satsuma will exploit it fast. The turn-based battles feel rewarding once you learn the faction timing.

The historical setting really pulls you in—managing Edo while Satsuma lurks in the background keeps every turn tense. I’ve already lost two campaigns to overextending, and I’m honestly impressed by how punishing yet fair that balance feels.

The way you have to constantly monitor your hold on Edo while watching the Satsuma threat grow keeps the tension high. It really captures the paranoia of trying to unify a fractured land.
