한주쿠 히어로

The character designs have that same over-the-top charm as Ganbare Goemon, and I love how many inside jokes about other Square games pop up during the story. It took me a moment to adjust to the menus, but the humor and retro RPG feel make it totally worth playing through.

The battle system’s quirky self-referential jokes kept me grinning through the whole playthrough. It’s a great pick if you’re craving that classic, wacky Super Famicom RPG vibe.

It’s ridiculous how much personality Square crammed into this cart — the wacky character designs really do have that Goemon energy, and the self-referential jokes had me grinning every few minutes. Text is all in Japanese, so brush up before diving in, but it’s a treasure if you can read it.
