I grabbed this for a weekend of retro gaming, and the way those eggs hatch into helpful animals mid-level is honestly addictive—each one feels like a little surprise. The controls are tight enough that even tricky jumps become satisfying, and it’s been pure fun from start to finish.

The egg mechanic is such a clever twist—watching them hatch mid-level and jump in to attack enemies completely changed how I approached each jump. Spent a whole evening just replaying stages to see which animal partner fit best, and it never got old.

I was skeptical about the 2D platformer genre feeling stale, but the way each egg hatches into a distinct animal helper that actually changes how I approach jumps is brilliant. The attacks from my little penguin buddy make those tight platforming sections way less punishing.
