Sonic Heroes

The camera keeps up with the action even in the wildest loops, which is rare for a PS2 game. I’ve played it through twice already, and the blend of speed and platforming feels just as tight as the old 2D days.

Playing as each of the three characters really changes how you tackle the levels, and the team mechanic adds a lot of depth without slowing things down. The camera keeps up perfectly during those fast sections, which I was worried about after some other PS2 games.

The level design in this one really nails that 2D-to-3D transition, and the action segments keep the pace up without ever feeling clunky. I've replayed the final boss three times already, and the frame rate holds steady even when everything explodes on screen.
