Capcom injects new life into its DMC series with five playable characters, stunning cityscapes to test out your combo skills and a quite stunning attention to graphical detail promoting this to the high art genre. Alas the waves of assaults can be relentless, yet the control remains intuitive giving great satisfaction when a perfect slice and dice combination rolls off the pad. Top hats off to Capcom for maintaining its triple A status despite the shift in format.

The graphical detail really shines on PS4, especially in the later levels where the lighting effects pop dramatically. Already my favorite way to replay through the

Playing as five different characters keeps the combat fresh for hours, and I love how each one has their own unique combo style. The graphics are crisp and smooth throughout the city stages, making every fight feel cinematic.

Evelyn C. ★★★★★

The cityscape backdrops are ridiculously detailed, and switching between the five fighters mid-combo never gets old. I’ve sunk hours just messing with Vergil’s moveset and the frame rate holds up beautifully on PS4.
