Suitably whiny engines and plenty of sparks both visually and literally as the N64 gets a challenging work out and handles it without breaking sweat. The starting line up being displayed is a nice touch (with plenty more attention to detail in the anchor lights) and the essential speed makes the cut to appease fans of the series with little time to admire the sponsors signs, bridges or grandstand.

Joseph ★★★★★

The whiny engine sound is spot-on and really adds to the chaos on track. Even with everything going on visually, the N64 handles the challenge without any slowdown.

Mia ★★★★★

Those spark effects are constant and really sell the sense of speed, even if my TV’s refresh rate can’t keep up with some of the brighter bursts. The N64 genuinely sounds like it’s working hard here, but it never stutters or slows down mid-race.

Lucy S. ★★★★★

The whiny engine sounds are so authentic it feels like you're in the pit lane, and the N64 doesn't skip a frame even when the sparks are flying everywhere. Watching the starting lineup roll out before each race is a nice touch that gets you hyped for the challenge ahead.
