The tackling has to be the most satisfying element of Super Formation Soccer as plenty of effort is needed in order to get to the opponents bye line. Two options are available: the sliding tackle or the shoulder barge which may result in a foul if it has a bit too much barge in it. Great for a two player battle between two self styled midfield generals.

Still my go-to cartridge for a quick session, the sliding tackle is genuinely tough to time but so rewarding when you finally catch the attacker just before the bye line. Getting to the opponent's bye line takes real patience, and that challenge keeps me coming back.

Kevin ★★★★★

Sliding into a tackle and actually earning the ball feels like a proper chess move, not a button-mash. I've lost whole afternoons just trying to time the two tackle options right against tougher teams. Pure nostalgia done right.

James ★★★★★

Getting to the opponent's bye line takes real skill, and the weight of the tackles makes every successful run feel earned. The sliding and standing tackle options give you genuine control over your defense.
