Extremo Oriente do Éden II Manji Maru

The chip tune soundtrack perfectly sets the mood for wandering through feudal villages, and the combat actually requires you to learn enemy patterns instead of just mashing attack. I’m already 10 hours in and the difficulty curve feels just right for a retro RPG.

The village exploration and those simple chip tunes really pull you back to a calmer era of RPGs, and the shift into tougher encounters feels perfectly paced. I've lost whole evenings just wandering around and soaking in the feudal atmosphere before grinding up for the next boss.

The village exploration and simple chip tunes really pull you into that old-school RPG mood before the combat ramps up. Load times on the CD are surprisingly smooth for the era too.
