Breath of Fire II (Cart Only)

The branching story paths kept me glued to the controller, and the improved spell animations in battles are a treat for the eyes. The quest feels much bigger and less linear than the first game, which is exactly what I wanted from a sequel.

The random encounter rate is high but keeps the excellent turn-based battles engaging, and the twisting story had me genuinely curious about what would happen next. I've spent hours just exploring the visually engrossing world and am not even close to finishing it.

Cart only, but who cares when the game itself is this engrossing. The battles actually demand you think about every move, and the story keeps twisting in ways I never saw coming. Lost a whole weekend to this without noticing.
