Cobra 2

The gun-arm mechanic is surprisingly smooth for a PC Engine CD game, and the space travel adds nice variety to the levels. Really captures that retro anime vibe without feeling clunky.

The anime-style cutscenes really capture the Bond vibe, and the space shooting segments are just challenging enough to keep me coming back. The CD audio quality surprised me for such an old game, adding real atmosphere to the action.

The whole “gun built into his arm” gimmick is exactly as cool as it sounds, and the CD-ROM soundtrack really sets the mood for the space-cowboy vibe. Played through it in a couple of sittings, and the smooth-talking protagonist kept me grinning the whole way.
