幻想水滸傳（最佳）

The story is huge—over 108 characters to recruit—and the 2D sprites still look charming on my old PS1. I've put in 20 hours and I'm barely scratching the surface of the strategic battles.

If you love deep strategy and a huge roster of characters to recruit, this port of the classic Chinese-inspired RPG delivers. The story really pulls you in once you get past the first few hours.

This game’s 108 Stars of Destiny mechanic turned recruitment into an addictive side quest, and the soundtrack perfectly captures that melancholy PS1 RPG feel. Only downside is the default text speed feels a bit slow, but the story kept me hooked until the end.
