Ikki (新品)

The new graphics make the ninjas pop, a huge step up from the old Famicom sprites. Coin collection feels much more fluid now too.

Finally a version of this classic that looks as good as it plays. The sprite work on the Switch really makes chasing those coins feel fresh, and the colors pop beautifully.

The ninjas are genuinely relentless in the later stages, but the upgraded visuals make every narrow escape feel way more dramatic than the old 8-bit days. I’ve already sunk a few evenings into it, and the money-collecting loop still keeps me coming back for just one more run.
