Dragon Quest IV (Cart Only)

Booting it up on my old Famicom, the cart loaded right away and the save battery still holds a charge. The tree monster sprites are creepier than I remembered from playing it on an emulator.

The tree monsters and moles look surprisingly detailed for an old Famicom cart, and the shopkeeper dialogue makes the world feel alive. It’s a solid pickup for any DQ fan who doesn’t mind working through the Japanese text.

Finally got this cart and the way NPCs give actual clues during conversations is so much better than just random grinding. The tree monster sprites look surprisingly detailed for a Famicom game. Really takes me back.
