The Mode 7 backgrounds on this one are genuinely gorgeous — they pull your eye away from the bullet hell chaos for a split second, which is part of the fun. Even as a cart-only pickup, it’s a solid port that runs smoothly on my SFC. Definitely the best way I’ve played ThunderForce III so far.
