Valis II

The anime cutscenes are absolutely gorgeous and really sell the retro-future vibe. The platforming is tight but forgiving enough that I never felt frustrated, which is rare for this genre.

The frantic platforming sections have that perfect arcade difficulty that keeps me coming back, and the CD-ROM soundtrack adds so much atmosphere during the intense levels. The way the action pauses for those gorgeous anime cutscenes is a brilliant touch that really sells the story.

The anime cutscenes are gorgeous and really pull you into the world, but the platforming is just as tight and responsive. I've been hooked on the fast-paced action for hours.
