A practical look at the Cyber Formula Union Saviour blind-box figure: what to expect, who it's for, and the trade-offs of buying opened-box collectibles.
Quick Answer
If you're a Cyber Formula fan looking for an affordable, display-ready collectible, the Union Saviour Race Queen figure is a solid pick—just be ready for the opened-box blind-pack format and the 15+ age rating.
Why the opened box matters
Unlike a sealed collectible, this figure's box has been opened to confirm which figure is inside. That means you know exactly what you're getting, which removes the gamble of blind-box purchasing. The trade-off is that the packaging is no longer factory-sealed, which can matter if you're a mint-in-box collector or planning to resell later.
Size and display considerations
At roughly 16cm tall, this figure fits comfortably on a standard shelf or desk without dominating the space. It's a typical scale for anime figures, so it will blend well with other collectibles of similar height. Just keep in mind that the figure is not suitable for children under 15, so it's best displayed away from young kids.
Decision Rules for Buying This Figure
- If you want a specific figure: Buy this opened-box version because you know exactly which figure you're getting, unlike sealed blind boxes. Confirm the figure shown matches the one you want before purchasing.
- If you're a mint-in-box collector: Skip this one—the opened box reduces the collectible value and the unsealed packaging may disappoint you. Look for sealed blind boxes or other sealed collectibles instead.
- If you're buying for a child: Don't buy this figure for anyone under 15 due to the age rating; choose a more age-appropriate collectible. Check the age rating on any figure before gifting.
- If you want a budget-friendly display piece: This figure is priced affordably (catalog price USD 3.24), making it a low-cost way to add a Cyber Formula piece to your shelf. Consider the price relative to similar figures in your collection.
